Terms of Service
Effective October 18, 2026 · Odd Omens LLC, Minnesota, USA
The short version. Salvo is free to play. You must be 13 or older. Play fair, be decent to other players, and don't cheat or attack the game. In-game items and currency aren't worth real money and can change. If you break the rules, we can rename, suspend or remove your account. The game is provided as it is, without guarantees. Minnesota law applies. Please read the full terms below. By creating an account or playing, you agree to them.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Odd Omens LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company ("we", "us"). They cover your use of Salvo at salvo.oddomens.com, including the game, its servers, chat, the Map Maker, and the related websites and tools (together, "the game"). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is part of these Terms.
2. Who can play
- You must be at least 13 years old. Sign-up asks for your birth month and year. If you're under 13, you can't create an account. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 13, we'll delete it.
- If you're under 18, or under the age where your country lets you agree to these Terms or to data use yourself, you need your parent's or guardian's permission. They agree to these Terms for you and are responsible for your use of the game.
- You can't use the game if we've banned you before (unless we say otherwise), or if the law where you live forbids it.
3. Your account
- Give truthful information when asked, including your birth month and year.
- Keep your password secret and don't use it on other sites. You're responsible for everything done through your account. Tell us at support@oddomens.com if you think someone else has used it.
- One person, one account: don't share, sell, trade, give away or buy accounts. Don't make extra accounts to get around a ban, mute or limit.
- We don't collect an email address, so we can't send password resets. Keep your password somewhere safe.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Our admins can also delete accounts as these Terms allow.
- You can change your username once a month. The name you gave up stays reserved for you for 7 days, then anyone can take it. Admins can rename any account at any time, and can ask you to choose a new username before you play again.
4. Rules of conduct
When you use the game, you agree not to:
- cheat: use aimbots, wallhacks, macros, modified clients, bots or any software or method that gives an unfair advantage or automates play;
- exploit bugs or glitches on purpose (please report them instead), or boost, farm or manipulate XP, stats, rankings, items or the in-game economy;
- attack the game or other players: hack, probe or scan our servers, overload them, try to get into accounts or systems that aren't yours, get around security measures, or interfere with other players' connections;
- harass, threaten, bully or stalk anyone, or post hate speech or content that attacks people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or similar traits;
- post sexual content, content that sexualises minors (we report this to the authorities), graphic violence meant to shock, or content that promotes terrorism, self-harm or illegal activity;
- use an offensive username or class name, including slurs, sexual references, or references to real-world atrocities, terrorist groups, notorious criminals or sexual abuse, or one that impersonates staff or another person;
- share other people's personal information (doxxing), or your own sensitive personal information;
- spam, advertise, run scams, or trade game items for real money;
- break any law, or infringe anyone's intellectual property or other rights.
5. Moderation and enforcement
We can take action against content or accounts that break these Terms, or that we reasonably believe harm the game, other players or us. Depending on how serious it is, that includes warnings, removing or hiding content, muting, kicking you from a match, changing an offensive username or asking you to choose a new one before you play again, resetting stats or progress, temporary or permanent bans (including bans by IP address), and deleting accounts. We decide what's appropriate, and we may act without warning in serious cases. We aren't required to monitor everything that's said or made in the game, and we aren't responsible for what other players do. Our anti-cheat flags gameplay for review, and a person reviews flags before anyone is banned for cheating. If you think we got it wrong, email support@oddomens.com and we'll take another look.
6. Things you make: maps, chat and other content
- You keep ownership of what you create: maps made in the Map Maker, chat messages, class names and other content you submit ("your content").
- You give us a licence to use your content to run and improve the game. The licence is worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free and transferable, and lets us host, store, copy, display, adapt, edit, publish and distribute your content in and around the game (for example, publishing a submitted map, fixing it, or showing it in a screenshot or trailer). For maps you submit for review, this licence continues after your account is deleted, so a published map can stay in the game. For your other content, it ends when the content is deleted, apart from copies we keep as described in the Privacy Policy.
- You promise that you have the right to submit your content and that it doesn't break these Terms or anyone's rights.
- We don't have to publish anything you submit, and we can remove content at any time. We don't pay for content you submit, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- If you send us ideas or feedback, we can use them freely, without owing you anything.
7. Virtual items and currency
XP, levels, unlocks, camos, skins, in-game cash, Outbreak gear and every other virtual item or currency (together, "virtual items") are a limited, personal, revocable licence to use them in the game. They are not your property and have no real-world money value. They can't be sold, traded or cashed out, and we won't refund or compensate you for them. We can change, rebalance, reset or remove virtual items, for example in an update, a new season or after an exploit, and they may be lost if your account is banned or deleted. Promo codes are free, have no cash value and may expire.
8. Our game and your licence to use it
The game, including its code, art, models, sounds, music, names and logos, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the game for your own non-commercial entertainment, under these Terms. You may not copy, modify, sell or redistribute the game, reverse engineer it (except where the law allows), or build tools that interfere with it. You're welcome to stream and share videos and screenshots of your own gameplay.
9. Changes to the game and to these Terms
The game is a work in progress. We can add, change or remove features, modes, maps and items, run maintenance and restarts, or stop running the game, at any time. We may update these Terms or the Privacy Policy. When we do, we'll change the effective date, and you'll be asked to read and accept the new version the next time you sign in, before you can keep playing. If you don't accept it, you'll be signed out and can't play until you do; you can still delete your account. We keep a record of which version you accepted and when.
10. Disclaimers
The game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the game will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free or free of harmful components, or that progress or data will never be lost. Some places don't allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.
Online play involves other people. We don't control what other players say or do, and we're not responsible for it.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Odd Omens LLC and its owners, employees and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, virtual items, profits, goodwill or enjoyment, arising out of or related to the game or these Terms. Our total liability for any claim related to the game or these Terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (which, for a free game, is normally zero) or fifty US dollars (US $50).
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as liability for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your rights as a consumer under mandatory local law.
12. Indemnity
If someone makes a claim against us because of your content, your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the game, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees), to the extent the law allows. This doesn't apply to claims caused by our own fault.
13. Ending your use of the game
You can stop playing and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or end your access, or delete your account, if you break these Terms, if we must for legal reasons, if your account has been inactive for a long time, or if we stop running the game. Sections 6 (the licence for submitted maps), 7, 10, 11, 12, 15 and 16 continue to apply after your access ends.
14. Copyright complaints
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content in the game infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@oddomens.com with: your contact details; a description of the work you say is infringed; where the content is in the game (for example, the map name or username); a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised by the owner, its agent or the law; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you're the owner or authorised to act for them; and your physical or electronic signature. We'll remove infringing content, and we may ban players who repeatedly infringe. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice with the details the law requires.
15. Disputes and governing law
- Talk to us first. If you have a problem with the game, email support@oddomens.com and give us 30 days to try to sort it out informally before starting a legal claim.
- Governing law. These Terms and any dispute about them or the game are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
- Where. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring an eligible claim in small claims court.
- Individual claims only. To the extent the law allows, claims may only be brought individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in a class action or other representative proceeding.
- If you live in the EU, the UK or another place whose laws give consumers the right to bring claims in their home courts or under their home laws, nothing in this section takes that right away.
16. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the game.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect, and that part is applied as far as the law allows.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a rule straight away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later.
- Assignment. You can't transfer your rights under these Terms. We can transfer ours, for example if the game is sold.
- Events outside our control. We're not responsible for failures caused by things beyond our reasonable control, such as outages at our providers, attacks or natural events.
